Canadian public broadcaster CBC has released the first trailer for the documentary Neil Peart: No One's Disciple about Rush's drummer. Pitchfork ↗
Peart was not just a drummer for Rush; he also wrote lyrics for the band. He died on January 7, 2020, at the age of 67, from glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain tumor.
The film features both of his bandmates — vocalist and bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson — and along with them four drummers: Stewart Copeland from The Police, Danny Carey from Tool, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree. Blabbermouth ↗

The trailer also includes archival interviews with Peart himself. In one, he describes how he got into drums: "When I started to get around 11 or 12 years old I was banging around the house and smashing up pots and pans, and my parents got the idea that I liked to hit things with sticks."
