Tony Iommi spoke with Ozzy a few hours before his death: "It was quite a shock"
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi described in Eddie Trunk's Trunk Nation show on SiriusXM how he spoke with Ozzy Osbourne on the night before his death. Consequence ↗
According to Iommi, Ozzy told him just one sentence that didn't sound alarming at the time: "I'm feeling really tired." The guitarist answered him that he was also exhausted from what they had been through. "It was really a hell of a shock. Really," Iommi described how the news of Ozzy's death affected him. Consequence ↗
Iommi also admitted that he had concerns even before the farewell concert Back to the Beginning. Ozzy performed two separate sets there — his own solo set and then the Black Sabbath one — and Iommi had warned him that it might be too much for his voice and stamina. However, the program was already firmly set by then. Consequence ↗
