The album was created under the impression of concerts. Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill were surprised during their North American tour in 2025 by how the audience reacted to their early songs, for example Sons and Fascination, and they decided to return to the art rock and new wave roots from which the band emerged. This was preceded by an extraordinarily busy period: a documentary about the band's career, a book written together by both founding members, and a Global Tour, during which the band played for over one and a half million viewers in 2025 alone. OndaRock ↗
Kerr and Burchill have been in the lineup since the beginning — Simple Minds were formed in Glasgow in 1977, so they are approaching their fiftieth anniversary. They were inscribed in the broadest public's memory by the song Don't You (Forget About Me) from 1985, which was heard in the film The Breakfast Club. For next year, the band has announced two concerts in Italy — April 16 at the Unipol Forum in Milan and April 17 at the Unipol Arena in Bologna. Level 42 will join them as guests at both venues. OndaRock ↗
