The Catalan club had already bolstered its attack with the arrival of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. According to available data, the transfer is set to cost approximately 29 million euros including possible bonuses. Coach Hansi Flick is thus expanding the attacking options of the team, which is defending its Spanish title. SITA ↗

Barcelona also failed to win its opening pre-season match against Birmingham. Two goals from Egyptian international Hamza Abdelkarim were not enough, and the team lost on penalties. Also unfavorable is the condition of Frenkie de Jong, who has a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee and could miss the start of the season. El Mundo ↗

Tension has also increased on the transfer market. Atletico Madrid has filed a complaint against Barcelona over negotiations regarding Alvarez, after the Catalan club's interest in signing him grew. In addition, FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against several Argentina players and Gavi over incidents following the World Cup final.

Departures continue in the women's team, with Salma Paralluelo moving from Barcelona to Lyon. Ahead of the new season, the club is thus dealing not only with strengthening its attack and health absences, but also with transfer disputes and disciplinary issues. idnes.cz ↗
