Bayern Munich chose an unusually dramatic path to another league win on Saturday. In the match at Mainz, the Bavarian giant trailed by three goals, but ultimately won 4:3. English striker Harry Kane decided the score as a substitute, and with his goal he corrected a bad situation for Bayern from the first half. Bayern could afford such a dramatic course of the match because, already last week, four rounds before the end of the season, it secured its 35th title in the club's history. The club's management confirmed that they will negotiate with Kane about his future after the end of the season. teraz.sk ↗

Coach Vincent Kompany drew attention to his team's performance in the first half, which he described as a total collapse. According to his analysis, it was crucial that the team maintained momentum and did not succumb to the psychological pressure caused by the change in score. Player Leon Goretzka confirmed that it is precisely the team's ability to fight and come back into the match that represents his mentality and footballing quality. Ahead of Tuesday's Champions League 2025/2026 semifinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain, Kompany praised Kane's form, describing him as a man who "is maturing like wine." SITA ↗

In the semifinal itself, however, Bayern is bringing in a decisive change. Kompany will not lead the team from the bench due to a disciplinary suspension; he will be replaced on the bench by assistant Aaron Danks. The coach himself, however, will remain at the stadium in the stands and will also continue to lead the team during the second leg. Bayern enters the semifinal with a clear goal and great confidence. Ahead of the match, Kompany declared that "if anyone can measure up to PSG, it's us." Home Paris coach Luis Enrique appreciates Bayern's quality and states that "I really like watching Bayern, and Kompany knows how to get the maximum out of his players." eurofotbal.cz ↗

At the end of the season, Bayern is making changes to its squad. Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson is returning to Chelsea after a year-long loan, as Bayern's club will not exercise his buyout clause. The club's management also announced that Brazilian forward Olise, who arrived in 2024 from Crystal Palace, can boast 39 goals and 45 assists. In addition, former German international Carolin Simon is also leaving Bayern. Die Zeit ↗
