However, England will take to the field in Saturday's match without right-back Reece James. He played the full match against Ghana, but afterwards felt unwell and missed training. Question marks were also raised ahead of the duel with Panama by Declan Rice's absence from training, since both players had started in the first two matches of the tournament. BBC News ↗
After confirming James's absence, Tuchel defended his policy on selecting full-backs. The German coach knows James well from his time at Chelsea, and after England's progression to the next stage, he stressed that he is not afraid of any opponent at the championship. He also praised Jude Bellingham, who is among the key players of the English team. sport.sk ↗
England go into the final group match with qualification already secured, but are still dealing with the fitness of key players and the composition of the squad for the next part of the tournament. The result against Panama could affect the team's position ahead of the knockout stage, in which Tuchel will need broader options, particularly on the flanks of the defense. BBC News ↗
