Mali — a Russian Shahed in Africa, a sanctions trail through Chinese firms
The first downed Russian Garpiya-A1 KK near Sévaré (May 18, 2026) contained STMicroelectronics parts and components from five Chinese firms (Mornsun, Wayon, GigaDevice, Shenzhen Codaca, NCR Industrial). We are tracking the Garpiya's spread in Africa, EU and US sanctions responses against the Chinese suppliers, developments in Mali's junta (Camara's successor) and OSINT records of the KK series.
