Vladimír Remek je český politik a diplomat, prvý česko-slovenský kozmonaut. Súčasne bol prvým cudzincom, ktorý sa zúčastnil medzinárodných pilotovaných vesmírnych letov programu Interkozmos v bývalom Sovietskom zväze. Remek bol 87. kozmonautom sveta, prvým z inej krajiny ako ZSSR a USA.
