Anti-Nazi and anti-communist resistance fighter František Wiendl from Klatovy has died

František Wiendl of Klatovy, honorary chairman of the Confederation of Political Prisoners, has died at the age of 102. According to published reports, he died during the night of Saturday, or more precisely shortly before midnight on Friday, June 26. During the Second World War he joined the resistance against Nazism. After February 1948 he continued his anti-communist activity and helped people who were trying to leave the country across the border. According to available data, he led twenty-eight people across the border. In recent years, Wiendl was also remembered as a representative of political prisoners and a witness to two totalitarian regimes.
