Football club Sparta Praha announced on Monday evening changes to its coaching staff after the team of Danish coach Brian Priske started the season with a series of poor results. The club ended its cooperation with set-piece coach Jack Wilson and head of physical preparation Ian Cole. Despite pressure from fans at Letná, Priske remains head coach. irozhlas.cz ↗

The personnel move came after seven rounds of the Chance Liga, in which Sparta collected only nine points and lost four times, most recently at Hradec Králové 1:2. With this record, the Letná side dropped to tenth place in the table, the worst position in the last thirty years. After the defeat in Hradec, fans in the away section chanted "Priske out," and dissatisfaction with the team's management has continued to grow in recent days. denik.cz ↗

The departure of two members of the coaching staff has so far triggered mixed reactions. According to critics, it is a half-measure that may not be enough on its own to turn around the team's form, and Priske has already lost part of his former authority within the club. denik.cz ↗

Sparta will present its revamped coaching staff for the first time in Wednesday's MOL Cup match at Žižkov, where they will travel without the accompaniment of their ultras. The club hopes the change will calm the situation ahead of upcoming league matches, in which Priske will strive to halt the negative run and defend his position on the bench. zpravy.aktualne.cz ↗
