The Czech band SEBASTIAN, fronted by singer Sebastian Navrátil, has released the single BARCELONA. Over the summer they presented the catchy track Tempo and the nostalgic song 2005, recorded with Patrik Malý, and according to the press release, fans could soon expect an album as well. GREGI.NET ↗
"I wanted it to have that English vibe. I didn't want it to sound like a typical Czech song right off the bat," Navrátil explains. He therefore tried to work differently with phrasing while singing, so that on first listen the listener would briefly hesitate over whether they were hearing Czech or English. The music video was filmed by Ondřej Kudyn at well-known locations in Barcelona, incorporating them in a postcard style. The shoot wasn't without complications: on the way, Navrátil realized he had left the suitcase with all the outfits for the shoot somewhere, so the crew had to improvise from the very first minute. Already with the single Tempo, Navrátil said that since January the band had been traveling to songwriting camps and studios, producing songs ranging from pure pop through more alternative and harder sounds to English-sung indie pop. Evropa 2 ↗
