On July 22, 2026, Samsung unveiled new foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model, which builds on the existing Galaxy Fold lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra received the new "Ultra" designation and, according to available information, improves precisely the areas that are key for foldable phones. The new features include a titanium construction and an adjusted aspect ratio for both displays. Samsung opted for lower and wider panels, which are meant to be better suited for viewing content. The phone is also being described as the lightest book-style foldable model the brand has made to date. mojandroid.sk ↗
The new generation also includes the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which has a thinner body, a 50-megapixel camera, and an improved display. This year Samsung showed as many as three foldable devices, with one of the new models meant to act as a hybrid between the smaller and larger foldable models. This expands the lineup between the classic flip phone and the large book-style device. mojandroid.sk ↗
Prices for the new devices in the Czech Republic are high. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is set to start at approximately 69,000 Czech crowns, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 starts at approximately 37,000 Czech crowns. However, with pre-orders and a trade-in bonus, the final price can be reduced. Samsung is thus continuing in the category it opened with the first Galaxy Fold in 2019, and continues to build on the gradual development of foldable phones as well as usage modes such as Flex Mode. smartmania.cz ↗
