Six came out in 2023 and was Extreme's first album in fifteen years — twelve tracks after the 2008 record Saudades de Rock. In the interview, Bettencourt explained that the break wasn't about the pace of work: "It didn't take us that long. We have enough material for three or four albums. With singer Gary Cherone, they already had a working title for the next record at the time — "maybe it'll come out in fifteen months instead of fifteen years, who knows." According to Bettencourt, the biggest challenge in building an album is keeping it interesting from start to finish: it should take you down unexpected side paths and then bring you back to the main route. At concerts, meanwhile, he was careful not to let new material crowd out what fans came for — from Six he wanted to play at most four or five songs, so that Get the Funk Out and III Sides to Every Story wouldn't be forgotten. For Slovak and Czech musicians, Extreme is practically synonymous with a single song. More Than Words has nearly seventy thousand views on SuperMusic.cz and exists in six arrangements, including tablature and a complete fingering guide. The rest of the band's catalog accounts for almost a hundred more entries.
