Swedish singer Ecco2k, real name Zak Arogundade, released the track Aldehydes and Ketones on October 22 – his first solo new release in five years. It was produced by his longtime friend and collaborator Gud and follows the 2021 EP PXE and the cult 2019 debut album E. The FADER ↗
A musical film was made for the song, which Arogundade shot, directed and edited himself, and in which he plays the main character named Echo. The character wanders through half-built, nearly ruined places where industrial landscape meets open sky, creating an eerie yet familiar atmosphere. According to the magazine, the video was filmed over the past six years in twelve countries and shows how his artistic practice is expanding into other media. The FADER ↗
Ecco2k belongs to the Swedish music collective Drain Gang alongside Bladee, Whitearmor and Thaiboy Digital. According to The FADER, the group did not just popularize its sound but also a very specific aesthetic, to the creation of which Ecco2k greatly contributed. The FADER ↗
His songs Peroxide and Calcium also come from the album E.
