Daniel Marek from Ostrava came to the SuperStar casting just a week before his wedding. His first attempt with the hit Get Lucky failed to convince the judges, but instead of being sent home, he got one more chance. The judges called his fiancée Veronika, Daniel picked up his guitar and sang Chci zas v tobě spát from David Koller's repertoire. The song worked instantly. Even that, however, doesn't guarantee advancement in SuperStar. Contestants without a Golden Ticket returned before the judges in groups at the end of the casting, and Daniel Marek, along with Branislav Malina and Adrian Marinov, didn't make it into the TOP 50. Hudba.sk ↗
That is not the end of his music, though. Daniel Marek sings in the pop-rock trio echo alongside guitarist Ondřej Fröhlich and drummer Filip Vahala. In April, Universal Music announced it had signed the trio, and the band also unveiled the single minulost. The trio has released the debut EP Angelit and the album spinel, has played at the Colours of Ostrava and FM City Fest festivals, and was chosen as an opening act by both Mirai and Sofian Medjmedj. According to the label's press release, the single minulost also aired on SuperStar, and after the broadcast Daniel received a lot of support from viewers. The release also says he announced on Instagram that work on another single is already underway.
