On October 7, Microsoft unveiled a new lineup of Surface computers, including the Surface Laptop Ultra model, which was created in cooperation with the American company Nvidia. The manufacturers presented it as the most powerful notebook in the Surface range and as competition for the most powerful MacBook Pro computers. According to available data, the price of the top configuration is close to 7000 euros. kultura.pravda.sk ↗
The notebook uses a new RTX Spark chipset from Nvidia. In some materials, the graphics component is also referred to as Blackwell RTX. The device is said to offer up to a twenty-core processor, extensive memory, and AI performance reaching up to one petaflop. Microsoft and Nvidia focused the computer primarily on local processing of artificial intelligence tasks directly on the device. zive.sk ↗
The system also includes Copilot, which can work with files stored on the computer. With this, the manufacturers want to expand the use of artificial intelligence beyond cloud services and offer users a tool integrated directly into the Windows environment. Der Standard ↗
Nvidia's entry into the world of personal computers came after a delay of roughly a year. The launch of the new lineup thus represents another attempt to combine the performance of this company's graphics chips with computers intended for both everyday users and professional work. However, the high price may limit the availability of the most powerful configuration. Further development will depend on whether customers appreciate the AI performance enough to be willing to pay a significant premium for it. ihned.cz ↗
