Chelsea completed the transfer of Spanish defender Pepo Chavarría from Rayo Vallecano, who is to replace Marc Cucurella in London after his departure to Real Madrid. The twenty-eight-year-old left-back signed a contract until 2031 and the transfer is valued at approximately 16 million pounds. teraz.sk ↗
Chavarría played 45 matches for Rayo Vallecano in the last season, scored one goal and added three assists. Chelsea is thus continuing with squad adjustments ahead of the new Premier League season. The club is also dealing with departures from defence, as Trevoh Chalobah transferred to Italian Como. He signed a five-year contract there and according to Italian media, Como will pay 30 million euros plus bonuses. Goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen is to leave on a season-long loan to Strasbourg without a purchase clause. eurofotbal.cz ↗
Arsenal, meanwhile, is preparing to finalize the arrival of Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United. The London club has agreed with Newcastle on the transfer of the Brazilian midfielder, for whom they are to pay 75 million pounds, according to other calculations approximately 87.5 million euros. Guimarães was Newcastle's top league scorer in the last season with nine goals and played 48 matches for Brazil. eurofotbal.cz ↗
