On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Real Madrid officially announced the arrival of Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva from Manchester City. The thirty-one-year-old midfielder arrives as a free agent and has signed a two-year contract with the Madrid club, valid until June 30, 2028. sport.pravda.sk ↗
After nine seasons, Silva has ended his spell at Manchester City, where he was also the team's captain. In the English club's shirt he played 451 matches, scored 76 goals and added 77 assists. He is also a 109-time Portuguese international. According to available information, before joining Real Madrid he also had other options, including Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, but he ultimately preferred the club led by José Mourinho. sport.cz - fotbal ↗
The new signing follows Monday's arrival of Marc Cucurella from FC Chelsea. The Spanish defender signed a contract with Real Madrid until 2032 and was described as a desired signing for José Mourinho. Cucurella arrives as a Spanish international and European champion, and his departure was also a significant blow for Chelsea. Tagesspiegel ↗
