RESULT (May 26, 18:40): Slovakia lost to Sweden 2:4 and, with this elimination from the World Championship, ended its participation in the tournament. The worst possible scenario came true — the Slovaks are leaving Switzerland without advancing to the quarterfinals. interez.sk ↗
Slovak hockey players are awaiting the most important match of the World Championship in Switzerland. In Tuesday's duel against Sweden, they need to get at least one point to advance to the quarterfinals from Group B. The game will take place at 4:20 PM and will decide the last team to advance from their group. sport.sk ↗ STVR (Spravy) ↗
Coach Vladimír Országh sent seven defensemen and thirteen forwards into play in this lineup. The Slovak national team members face a demanding opponent, but according to statements made before the match, they have the confidence that every opponent can be beaten. The situation became more complicated for the Slovak hockey players after surprising results from Norway, which changed the group's standings table. STVR (Spravy) ↗ SITA ↗
Interestingly, the team management strategically did not reveal who would start in goal. Assistant coach Kosa did not disclose the goalkeeper's name, but assured that both candidates, Samuel Hlavaj and Adam Gajan, are fully prepared to help the team in this key position. All signs suggest that the Slovaks want to complicate matters for the other side with an unexpected choice in goal and other tactical elements in this all-or-nothing match. sport.pravda.sk ↗ teraz.sk ↗
