French project Nouvelle Vague has released a new version of Depeche Mode's song Only When I Lose Myself. It features vocalist Mélanie Pain and is another preview from the upcoming album A Date With Depeche Mode, which will be entirely devoted to the repertoire of this British band. The album will feature several guests — in addition to Mélanie Pain, also Beth Hirsch and Phoebe Killdeer. The song Enjoy the Silence was performed by Skye Edwards from Morcheeba and Larry Love from Alabama 3, Never Let Me Down Again was given a voice by Flavie Coelho, and Just Can't Get Enough is sung by Eva de Marce. Nouvelle Vague built their reputation precisely on this principle: they take punk and new wave songs and rework them into bossa nova and soft pop. Their name is a triple play on words — in French it means "new wave", in English it refers to new wave, and in Portuguese it refers precisely to bossa nova.
In the SuperMusic.cz database of lyrics and chords, the band has more than forty songs including covers of Love Will Tear Us Apart and In A Manner Of Speaking. You will also find the original version of Only When I Lose Myself by Depeche Mode and three other songs that the French band reworked for the album.
