Netanyahu says the threat from Iran has receded, but the fight continues
At a meeting with journalists, Netanyahu claimed that Israel had succeeded in removing the immediate existential threat. At the same time, he indicated that Washington's agreement with Tehran does not mean the end of Israeli security operations. According to statements by the country's representatives, the Israeli army is to remain in security zones in Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip for an indefinite period. SITA ↗
The agreement sparked criticism in both the Israeli government and opposition camps. According to Israeli politicians, the agreement does not address all security risks, particularly the question of Hezbollah and Iran's activity in the region. Netanyahu also confirmed that he intends to run again for a seat in the parliamentary elections and, in his own words, intends to win. svet.sme.sk ↗
Tension in the region continues, however. After the digital signing of the agreement, three explosions were reported near Hormuz, while the price of oil continued to fall and a possible reopening of key routes was expected. Developments will show whether the agreement between Washington and Tehran will limit the conflict, or whether the dispute will shift mainly to Israeli operations in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. hnonline.sk ↗
