Flight EI402 took off from Dublin airport at 6:24 a.m. The Airbus A320 landed safely in Évreux, and French authorities began checking whether there was an explosive device on board. According to the announcement, the situation was monitored by the office of the French prime minister. RTE News ↗

The incident was part of a new wave of bomb threats targeting aircraft in European airspace. Emergency or diverted landings were also recorded by other planes heading to France, Italy, Czechia, Bulgaria, Belgium and Austria. One of the planes was escorted by Italian military fighter jets.
