The image the magazine uses is apt: as if the band had stayed in the cargo hold of a flying Boeing and thrown a wild rave there with their foreheads pressed against the engine. Four years after their previous record, they're pushing even further down the same road, and the fever in their music has nothing to do with calculation. While part of the new guitar scene grew up in their wake, they continue to live their band as an activity outside the system: Daniel Fox produces for others (Sprints, Lambrini Girls), while Adam Faulkner and Alan Duggan carry on with their own projects. Until now, Gilla Band had only one track on SuperMusic.cz. It has now been joined by the songs Shoulderblades and Backwash.
The band operated under the name Girl Band until 2021 and changed it after realizing how misleading it seemed for a group of four men. Singer Dara Kiely has spoken openly in the past about how mental health issues interrupted one of their tours.
