The Leo Baeck Prize bears the name of a significant Jewish scholar and religious leader. Its award to Nuhr comes at a time when Germany is engaged in intense debate about antisemitism, attitudes toward Israel, and the limits of public criticism. The award thus also fits into the broader debate about the culture of political discussion. Die Zeit ↗
