TSV 1860 Munich enters the new Regionalliga season with an away match in Schweinfurt against 1. FC Schweinfurt. Ahead of the start of the competition, the club also announced the signing of a contract with Mathew Collins, the son of British musician Phil Collins. Die Zeit ↗
Collins joined the Munich team after a trial training session and signed a one-year contract valid until 2027. Shortly before the start of the season, the club thus added to its squad a player with a very well-known surname that extends beyond the football world. Spiegel.de ↗
Several articles emphasize primarily the new player's connection to his famous father, who is among the well-known figures of rock music. The transfer itself, however, is in a sporting context part of the team's preparations for its participation in the Regionalliga, where 1860 Munich begins the season on its opponent's ground. n-tv ↗
The available information does not mention details about Hasan Ismaik's role in this step, nor other sporting details about the lineup or the club's goals. Further developments will therefore only become clear with the start of the league season in Schweinfurt and Collins's subsequent integration into the team.
