La Rochelle je prístavné mesto v západnom Francúzsku na pobreží Atlantického oceánu v Biskajskom zálive. Je hlavným mestom departementu Charente-Maritime v regióne Nové Akvitánsko. Prístav je prirodzene chránený bariérou ostrovov Ré, Oléron, Aix a Madame. S ostrovom Ré je mesto spojené od 19. mája 1988 najdlhším mostom vo Francúzsku.
