School in Terrenove
A branch of the Alcide De Gasperi school in the Terrenove district was seriously damaged. Director Leonardo Gullotta told the ANSA agency that the tornado "investì in pieno" the branch "e l'ha distrutta totalmente," meaning it hit it directly and destroyed it completely. Staff could not get out of the building, so they moved to a safer part of it. He said injuries to children and staff were not serious, only abrasions. Injured and damage
Nine people came to the hospital in Marsala, four children and five adults. According to the management of the ASP Trapani health authority, none of them had serious injuries; after examinations they only had cuts and abrasions, and the situation is under control. An earlier Tp24 report spoke of five adults in critical condition, which this report later superseded. Tp24 also cites an unconfirmed report of a couple whose car was thrown into a ravine by the vortex and who were transported to Palermo, stressing that it still needs to be confirmed. Some homes are uninhabitable. The city of Marsala will request a state of emergency be declared and is looking for temporary housing for families who cannot return home. Firefighters and workers from the distribution company Enel are removing fallen poles, and police have set up a zone protected against looting.
