Reusser Remains in Yellow, Ferrand-Prévot Withdraws

Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser maintained the yellow jersey as leader at the women's Tour de France after stage 6, which was won on Thursday by Mauritian Kimberley Le Court-Pienaar. In the final sprint, she defeated Cédrine Kerbaol, while the standings at the head of the race remained unchanged. France24 ↗

The stage came a day before the expected continuation toward Mont Ventoux and brought another challenging day for cyclists competing for the overall standings. Le Court-Pienaar made the best use of the final part of the stage and secured the stage victory, while Reusser remained at the head of the general classification. sport.sk ↗

However, the race was abandoned on Saturday before the start of the 8th and penultimate stage by Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. The French cyclist, who won the 2025 edition, withdrew due to illness. The thirty-four-year-old member of the Visma-Lease a Bike team will therefore not continue in her defense in the final part of the event. Le Figaro ↗

The withdrawal of last year's winner changes the situation before the decisive stages, but according to available information, the most important sporting fact remains Reusser's overall leadership. The conclusion of the Tour de France will thus focus primarily on whether the Swiss cyclist will maintain her advantage in the final days of the race. Le Figaro ↗
